Thinking Of Getting a Hi-Point 995 Carbine (Classic)?

Just Wanted to Ask to anyone whos ever had one themselves or knows anything about them... Im 16 i Have My F.O.I.D Card and i can legally have guns. ive been reading about different rifles out there and This gun got my attition because i can afford it but i want to know if theyre pretty good guns. Eventally I want to get some Kind Of Hunting Rifle and go hunting but for now i just want a good starter gun to get used to the proper care and handeling of guns and maybe get some custom stuff like a scope and stuff. I know they made a "Remake" Or "update" or whatever you want to call it of the Hi-point 995 but i cant realy afford the extra $100. So is this a good beginer gun For like recreational shooting? Thanks And Let Me Know Anything Else About These guns or if there is a better Beginer gun out there for around the same price
