IS A M1 CARBINE A GOOD GUN?

I want to get a ww2 rifle really bad but do not want to spend a ton of money just want a gun that is very reliable and accurate..I was going to get a M1 Garand but kinda want a m1 carbine at the same time..Is the m1 carbine a good all around gun for hunting,camping,target shooting?????
