Is a M1 Carbine worth $500?

They make a fun little rang gun or a river bottom shooter and can be used for varmint hunting but not much more then that. Where i am from Illinois. A collector grade m1 carbine with all matching parts and numbers can go as much as $800.00 to $1100.00 a every day shooter can $500.00 to $700.00
