22. LR ak47 underwater?

can you take a 22. caliber rifle (ak47) underwater then come back up from underwater and shoot it like you see in those movies with the special forces people. and also if u can can you also wait to clean it till that night so like after you take it underwater shoot it then it is still a lil bit wet can you wait like 7-10 hours to clean it before is rusts and stuff? just to tell you this would be the gun that would go underwater ( http://centerfiresystems.com/ac-akf-22.aspx ) and also a ruger 10/22 carbine. would the water jack up the wood or anything?
