Should I glue an airsoft sound amplifier to my gun? help!!!?

So I was trying to unscrew the orange flashhider off my G&G gr16 carbine w/ Moe upgrades only to find that it was glued on as well. I tried heating and freezing it, but ended up weakening the barrel and the flashider was competely ripped off along with an entire inch and a half of the entire barrel. I grinded the barrel tip flat and I'm wondering if I should just glue the sound amplifer on? thanks! (there's no threading, it came off with the flash hider)
