I have a type 30 jap carbine that saftly chambers 7mm by 57mm cartriges but will it chamber the 7.7 jap?

I'd take it to a gunsmith and have him/her check the rifle, The Japanese 7.7x58 is a bit longer case and a 30 caliber bullet.
