Can different magazines be used for the panther airsoft M4 carbine?

i have one magazine but i would like to get another. (trying to avoid online buying if possible but i will if i have no other options) i have five stores that i can go to but none of them sell a magazine with the panther brand. my friend says no other mag will work. ive talked with the clerks but they all don't seem to know what they are talking about let alone what im talking about. so i was just wondering if buying a magazine that's of a different brand then panther would still work in my air soft gun.
